Church History

The parish church is dedicated to All Saints. A Wesleyan Methodist chapel was opened in 1815, and a Wesleyan Reform chapel in 1832, both in the hamlet of Annesley Woodhouse. In ancient times a priory stood at Felley, but this disappeared at the time of the dissolution.

Church Records

The parish registers start in 1599. Bishops Transcripts 1605-1867. Marriages for 1599-1812 may be found in the Phillimore series volume 9, and those for the period 1813-1837 have been published by the Nottinghamshire Family History Society.

The Methodist records may be found in the Ashfield circuit (MR13), with some christening records from the Wesleyan chapel dating back to 1890.
